Mr. Plucky again....

I'm getting mixed signals here.

Mary F. says "get some woolies at J. Crew" and Yarnophiliac asks if I plan to learn how to knit socks.

Mrs. Plucky says these are my choices of sock yarn colors-

  • Breakfast at Tiffanys
  • Peony
  • Fondant
  • Cookie
  • Neopolitan
  • Cherry Cordial
Not a very manly selection. Maybe I will learn if she ever gets some sock yarn that is, let's say, black. I guess it's Target for me tomorrow - grab some socks while she's not looking.

And besides, I can never find the right sticks (is that what you call them?)

oh my.
anyway, sarah, the socks i made weren't any particular pattern. the sock was sport weight, made on size 3's and 3 rows of ribbing over 48 sts. short row heel shaping down to 10 sts for the heel, then straight stockinette until the last 2" which is reserved for the toe shaping. if you want me to type it out for you, let me know. i think if you go to the blue blog, you'll find a shortie short row sock tutorial. :) happy knitting! and thanks for visiting my blog.

btw, mr. plucky, black is soooo boring to knit with. the stitches are kinda hard to see, too. meilenweit makes some "manly" colored self striping socks. you might wanna check kpixie for those. they have fast shipping and great service. they even sell double pointed needles, if you are so inclined. :)
